After many hours on YouTube, watching some of the fantastic tutorials I decided to give paper flowers a try. Glimmer mist seemed to be popular, and one tutorial I found, showed how to make your own. I mixed acrylic paint, mica powder, water and glue and was really pleased with the results.
For the flowers I used a scalloped punch and punched 8 pieces. Then painted both sides. I pierced a brad through the centre of all 8 pieces and then, whilst the petals were still wet, one petal at a time scrunched up around the brad. I slowly teased each petal back out in to the shape I wanted. I love this quick and cheap technique.
Here is the result..............
After I took this picture I finished off the flowers by sprinkling some glitter powder over the top which really made them sparkle!

My First Blog ever!
Here it is! My first ever blog!
A good place to start is some background to how I got in to cardmaking and scrapbooking. Back in November 2010 I went to stay with my mum for a week in Cornwall. The weather was typical of Cornwall that time of year and so we had a stay at home day where my mum was showing me some of her card making techniques.
We got on to heat embossing and I was completely taken by this particular technique. I immediately decided that this was something I wanted to try once I got back home. The next day mum took me in to Tavistock and I bought, what mum deemed to be the basics!
My first project was a thank you card to mum, little did I realise just how much I would go on to mean THANK YOU xxx
